Southern Lakes Parks & Recreation is thrilled to host the 2017 Tour Des Lacs on August 19th, 2017 at the Fenton Community & Cultural Center! Highlights from the 2016 event include bringing in over 250 riders ranging from children in strollers all the way up to 73 years old. Participants in the 2016 event joined us from Michigan, Ohio, and Windsor, Canada. This is the perfect event for experienced riders or those looking to participate in their first tour. Participants have the options of choosing from a 6, 15, 31, or 62 mile ride. Hydration station and SAG support is available.

Join us for the After Party at the Fenton Community & Cultural Center when your ride concludes featuring raffles with great prizes, wonderful food, awesome music, and drinks!

We are honored to be able to carry on this unique experience and tradition that has been in the community since 2003. In the 13 years of the tour, over $83,000 has been donated to multiple causes and charities thanks to businesses like yours. For 2017, a portion of the proceeds will be given to the LAFF pathway (Linden, Argentine, Fenton, and Fenton Township) whose vision is to connect Linden, Argentine, Fenton and Fenton Township in southern Genesee County with a non-motorized trail. This trail will greatly enhance recreational opportunities and alternative forms of transportation.  Southern Lakes will also be designating funds from the event to go towards our newly created scholarship program, helping to provide families in our community the chance to participate in recreation and enrichment programs. 

We encourage businesses to sign up for the event as bike tours are a great team building activity and a wonderful way to get out and enjoy the beautiful Michigan summer weather. The business or group that signs up the most people will get their name on the Team Trophy!
