This is a Field Day for students who undertake Michigan DNR Hunter Education through the Online/Home Study option. Upon Completion, successful students will receive a Michigan DNR Hunter Education Certificate. Students who elect to participate in the online course option must have completed their online home study course (http://www.hunterexam. com/usa/michigan/), and MUST bring printed proof of completion to Field Day. For details visit www.michigan.gov/dnr, please note that extra fees apply for the online option.
Ages 10 and up
Students will discuss specifics of firearm and tree stand safety, and will be required to pass a written examination of material covered online, as well as demonstrate safe firearms handling with .22 caliber rifles. Parental participation with minor students is encouraged;students 11 years and younger MUST be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Students will need to bring the following: two #2 pencils, eye and ear protection that is appropriate for use of a firing range, and bring proof of the online course completion.
Students without printed proof of online course completion will not be allowed to participate. NO Exceptions.
A snack bar will be available or students may bring their own snack and drinks.
