On Saturday, May 11, 2019, Communities First, Inc. will host the 5th annual “A Taste of Culture,” a family event created to build a sense of community while exposing people to cultures from around the world. The event is a part of the cultural outreach program, Culture Shock. As the title suggests, “A Taste of Culture” will integrate food with other educational activities to promote lifelong learning, create lasting memories and strong positive impressions of foreign cultures.

Attendees will be able to interact with cultural representatives from around the world, including Nigeria, China, India, Ethiopia, The Bahamas and Jamaica.  Displays will be set up showcasing aspects of culture such as music, art and clothing. Adding to the experience, there will also be demonstrations of culture ranging from Bollywood and Mexican dancing to African drumming and bagpipes. The food tasting features a variety of international cuisine from local restaurants.
