This is a class designed to introduce the student to the art of mixed-media design. Using unorthodox techniques and materials, students will create unique pieces of art under the instruction of career artist Susan Hagen.
Students will learn several mixed-media techniques for assembling their pieces, as well as learn about new materials.

SUSAN HAGEN MIXED MEDIA CLASS SUPPLIES

• Make a mixed media piece using charcoal, acrylic glaze, plaster of Paris, collage, and acrylic paint. 3-week classStudents bring: 11×14” or larger surface, paint brushes in a variety of sizes, utility brush, palette knife, variety of papers in different textures and colors, etc., an image of a face you can draw for the finished piece, a 3-D element of your choice, charcoal pencil in both black and white, kneaded eraser and other sized erasers. Instructor will bring paper for sketching, charcoal vines and blocks, glazing medium, gel medium, fluid matte medium, paint, and Xacto knives.
