The Weiss Advocacy Center works to save children’s lives by improving the systems that serve abused children. The Weiss Advocacy Center works to break the cycle of abuse, providing intervention to stabilize children long enough for them to begin healing. The Weiss Advocacy Center believes that children cannot be protected if abusers go unpunished. The work of the Center, in conjunction with many other entities such as law enforcement, the Department of Human Services, medical providers and more, has a direct impact on society’s ability to prosecute and punish child abusers. Law enforcement representatives say that it is at least 50% easier to get a conviction using the Weiss Advocacy Center’s services, including forensic interviewing of children who have allegedly been abused. The Weiss Advocacy Center is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that focuses on two aspects of abuse and neglect: protection for children who need immediate help, and prevention that will break the cycle of abuse and neglect. The Weiss Advocacy Center speaks for the voiceless; defends the defenseless; and saves those whose lives would otherwise be finished before they began.
