KASC is a community based nonprofit, providing teenage athletic and educational activities in underserved regions, sparking transformative change. KASC vision is to teach all economically challenged youth physical and empowering disciplines that lead to college degrees, vocational certifications and entrepreneurship. Working for more than 17 years as a hairstylist led Angela to want to try something different. In 2007, after a car repossession, Angela started using public transportation and riding her bike to work. After some schooling the idea to start a nonprofit for kids in Flint, Michigan where she grew up, was born. Before returning home she developed a curriculum of educational and physical activities to offer local teenagers. Moving back to Michigan in 2010, with no knowledge or history in the nonprofit world, a consultant suggested she start a bike program, as this was something she was already doing in her everyday life. KASC created the Berston Bicycle Club Project and the Family Ride in summer, 2012. Bike-Teen-Clean was launched 2014.
