The Florida Project

The Friends of Modern Art film series at the Flint Institute of Arts presents a snapshot of contemporary American life as seen through the eyes of a young girl living modestly in the shadows of Disney World.

Living in the shadows of Disney World, a 6-year-old girl, played by newcomer Brooklynn Prince, courts mischief and bonds with her rebellious but caring mother. Willem Dafoe also stars in a drama (111 minutes, rated R) that made many critics’ Top 10 lists and was lauded by the Detroit News as “a touching, poignant snapshot of American life in 2017.”
