Flint Public Library
The last day of service before the major renovation at the Flint Public Library, 1026 E. Kearsley Street, is Saturday, February 29, 9am-6pm.
The Library will be closed for two months; March and April 2020. Books and materials may be returned to the dropbox at Crapo Street. No late fees will be assessed. Your Library card will automatically renew.
You can still access all of our digital resources while we are closed. Using your Library card, you can download books and audio books using Overdrive or Libby, access magazines with RB Digital, download music with Freegal, take a class through Lynda Library, learn a foreign language using Pronunciator, and use our website portal (www.fpl.info) for many services.
In May the Library will open up at its temporary location at Courtland Center, 4190 E. Court Street, Burton. It will be located right next door to the temporary home for Sloan Museum. Our hours of service will remain the same; open Tuesday-Thursday 11am-8pm, Friday-Saturday, 9am-6pm, closed Sunday-Monday. The Library is projected to be at Courtland Center for over a year; May 2020 through June 2021.
At Courtland Center we will offer books and DVDs to check out, computer access and Wi-Fi, lots of children’s programming, and as much other programming as will fit into the space. Fortunately, this location has regular bus service, plenty of parking and hours that fit our library schedule. The Flint Public Library will be open at Courtland Center for over a year; May 2020 through June 2021
