    The Clio Center for the Arts mission is to enrich our community by building partnerships to provide quality artistic experiences for personal growth, for Clio and surrounding Communities. The art gallery offers a wide array of art exhibits year round with a new exhibit in the gallery each month. We also offer art classes in different mediums and are always welcome to new class ideas and opportunities for our members to experience, share and learn new art forms. We hope that you will take the time to visit our gallery and learn more about our organization and what we have to offer Clio and the surrounding communities.

    Flint’s Community Makerspace, Factory Two is built on the idea that learning, sharing, and creating are empowering and transformative forces which can open doors and revolutionize both perceptions and realities. Factory Two provides tools, equipment, training, and access to cutting edge technology like 3D printers and our Epilog laser cutter as well as time-honored tradition in our wood and metal shops, allowing members to make items as delicate as jewelry or as durable as iron worked on a coal forge. Members of Factory Two are small business owners, students, artists, emerging entrepreneurs, crafters, neighbors, retirees and more, experiencing the joy of learning, the excitement of crafting with their own hands, and the satisfaction of being part of a larger community of makers.

    The Fenton Community Orchestra’s purpose is to provide a place for musicians of all ages to connect through music by providing an educational and entertaining music program both for its members and its audiences. FCO seeks to promote mutual growth and understanding through the experience of musical performance. Membership is open to musicians from age 14 and up, provided they have the desire to play and learn together. The FCO includes an 80-piece full symphonic orchestra and our 40-member partner group Simply Strings which features novice developing musicians.     Looking for a fun-filled experience with the children? Explore the Flint Children’s Museum! Over 40 hands-on educational and fun exhibits are tucked into every corner. Each visit is a new experience with monthly themes, special programs, and daily activities. It’s a great destination for a school field trip, daycare outing, or a scouting trip. There are three party rental rooms which are perfect for birthdays, anniversaries, baby showers and any other special occasion. Hours: Tuesday — Friday 9 am to 5 pm Saturday 10 am to 5 pm Admission: $4/person $3/person in groups of 20+ Located on the campus of Kettering University.

    A group of local performing artists had a dream. They loved entertaining and wanted to present quality theatrical productions to the Flint community. The year was 1929. What began as “The Theater Guild,” was soon renamed “Flint Community Players,” and their original dream has become a reality…season after season. This dedicated group of volunteers, led by a professional artistic director, presents five plays each season. The performances are staged at Bower Theater, located in the Flint Cultural Center. The organization provides a forum for area artists to expand their theatrical experiences and to showcase their talents.

    Motherly Intercession is an organization that has provided services for children and families impacted by incarceration in Genesee County since 1999. Our services include:  Reading and Counting to Success (RACS) an afterschool tutorial program Strengthening Incarcerated Families (SIF) a program that emphasizes stress reduction techniques for dealing with the stress that is associated with incarceration Incarcerated Family Resource Center (FRC) a place where incarcerated families can receive concrete and social support, build family resiliency and identify other community resources that are available to help their family. MI Bridges- Department Human Services- Clients can call Motherly Intercession to make an appointment to apply for food stamps, cash assistance, childcare, and emergency assistance. Healthcare Insurance Coverage- in partnership with the Genesee Health Plans our staff will help incarcerated families identify healthcare insurance options available and assist them with the enrollment process

    Since 1954 Vocational Independence Program, Inc. (Formally known as GCARC) has been committed to providing services for adults with disabilities and barriers to employment. The Work/Training agency emphasizes Employment 1st modules and strategies and training in work, activities of daily living, and social skills. Individuals are involved in production, assembly and product manufacturing, in addition to group skill development activities such as: communication, health and safety, community awareness and integrated community activities. The Community Employment Services Program provides the support for individuals participating in community employment, such as individualized job development, job coaching, and job shadowing services.
